Hey! It’s DD! Matt (he’s my boyfriend 🙂 ) and I had a nice dinner this past weekend on Saturday night at Blaze in downtown Bangor! It was a great night out with friends. (You might be familiar with our dinner guests… Mike + Jen of The Rusted Raven…)
Blaze is a great place to have an elegant dining experience, a delicious lunch or a fantastic brunch. The menu is made up of locally sourced culinary delights – things that you wouldn’t expect, nor will you find elsewhere in the Greater Bangor Region. For example – we had ginormous Kobe beef corn dogs for an appetizer! CORN DOGS!!! That was my favorite food when I was a child and I was blissfully happy to order these.

All of these things were delicious. To accompany, we selected some nice beer + wine from the extensive list, which offers many premium wines, signature cocktails, and over 50 craft beers on tap as well as bottles + cans from around the state. I am currently on a Savignon Blanc kick, so that’s what I ordered. The crew had some beers + cocktails. Every drink I’ve had at Blaze has been tasty – Bloody Marys on Sundays, Margaritas on Friday – I’ve never been disappointed! Bonus – they have many wines that I enjoy – I’m kind of a wine snob, but I never have a problem finding something I here.
For dinner we had lots of protein…because what else do you get to eat at a place that cooks everything in a wood fired oven?? (Well, besides pizza…) the boys had the ribs, I had the flat iron steak and Jen had the duck meatball sandwich and some delicious duck fat fries. Everything was delightful + filling. We even had leftovers.
